Centre for Digital Tech. in Healthcare (CDiTH), in collaboration with Yashoda Hospitals, conducted a series of meetings during August and September 2025 to explore applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare. The sessions focused on identifying critical clinical problem areas can enhance clinical workflows, diagnosis, and patient care.
The meetings were attended by Dr. Chinna Babu, Clinical Director–Surgical Oncology and Senior Consultant, Surgical & Robotic Surgical Oncology, and Dr. Easwar Chandra, Senior Consultant & Head, Department of Radiology at Yashoda Hospitals, along with Prof. Bapi Raju and Raja Poladi from IIIT Hyderabad, and other team members from both institutions. Dr. Chinna Babu shared perspectives on the application of AI in surgical video analysis and robotic-assisted procedures, while Dr. Easwar Chandra discussed opportunities in radiology automation and AI-based diagnostic tools.
The sessions also covered areas such as AI-driven ICU monitoring, antimicrobial stewardship, stroke detection, and oncology report generation—aimed at converting clinical challenges into collaborative research and innovation initiatives.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of creating common data frameworks and evaluation methods for clinical AI solutions. Both teams agreed on the need for long-term collaboration between hospitals and research institutions to validate and scale these technologies. Continued research and joint initiatives were seen as key to realizing the full potential of AI in improving healthcare delivery in India.
